About Me

Hi, I'm Shem Miller. I'm a cybersecurity engineer, tuba player, photographer, and cat dad.

Since 2017, I've worked full-time in the field of cybersecurity, with a focus on identity and endpoint security engineering. My work centers around protecting systems, users, and data, and I take pride in building secure, resilient environments that keep organizations running smoothly. I'm passionate about the evolving nature of cybersecurity and enjoy solving complex problems that require both technical expertise and strategic thinking.

Outside of work, I've been playing the tuba since 2010. Music has always been a core part of my life—whether performing in ensembles or exploring new ways to merge sound and expression. My creative interests also extend to photography, where I find joy in capturing moments that feel both personal and timeless.

When I'm not behind a screen or a lens, you'll likely find me hiking or traveling the world with my fiancée. We're always seeking out new landscapes, cultural experiences, and quiet moments to document together. We share our home with two cats, Toby and his mother Delilah, who bring plenty of personality, excitement and peace to our lives.

This site is where I bring it all together—my work in cybersecurity, my creative projects, and the thoughts I gather along the way.
